Terms of Use

These terms are between you and WispOS, and cover wisp-os.com and the WispOS app. hyprmac and Auto PiP, two free Mac utilities by the same maker, have their own terms below.

They exist so everyone knows where they stand, not to hide anything in a wall of clauses.

Using WispOS

WispOS is free to use. You may install it on any computer you own or control, and use it for anything lawful.

What you make is yours. The games, apps, agents and projects you make with WispOS belong to you. We claim no rights in them, and they stay on your computer unless you choose to share them.

You bring the AI. Wisper runs on the AI service you choose, on your own plan. You use that service under its own terms; we don't resell it or see your account.

It is beta software. WispOS is still being built and it will have bugs. Keep your own copies of anything that matters, and press Report a bug in the app when something goes wrong.

The App Store

Apps in the WispOS App Store are made by their publishers. We review every app before it is listed, but each app is its publisher's, described on its own listing. Publishing an app is covered by the Developer Agreement.

hyprmac and Auto PiP

You may install and use hyprmac on any Mac you own or control, for anything you like, personal or commercial, at no charge. No licence key, no seat count, no registration.

Please do not sell it, repackage it as your own, or distribute modified builds under the hyprmac name. If you want to point people at it, link to wisp-os.com/download/ so they get a signed build rather than something that has passed through other hands.

The same goes for Auto PiP: free, on any Mac you own or control, from wisp-os.com/auto-pip.

hyprmac moves and resizes the windows of other applications. It has been tested and it is used daily on the machine it was written on, but it is still an early version and it will have bugs.

Quitting it with ⌥⇧Q returns every window it moved. It does not modify, delete or touch the contents of your documents, and it changes no system settings other than the ones you explicitly ask it to.

No warranty

WispOS, hyprmac and Auto PiP are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use it at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any claim, damages, lost work, lost time or other liability arising from the software or its use. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Donations

Donations are voluntary gifts, not purchases. They buy no product, no licence, no feature, no support commitment and no priority. Everything on this site is available whether you donate or not.

A donation is not a pre-order for anything unreleased. Because nothing is being sold, donations are generally non-refundable — but if you gave by mistake or changed your mind, email support@wisp-os.com and we will refund it without argument.

Payments are processed by Stripe, under Stripe's own terms.

The mailing list

You can leave at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us. We send it when there is something real to say, and we do not pass your address to anyone.

Other people's names

Hyprland, Omarchy, Apple, macOS and any other product names on this site belong to their respective owners. WispOS is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. They are named only to describe what our software is like, what it works with and what it runs on.

These terms may change as the software does. The date at the top says when they last did.
